Swedish Velove is testing a cargo bike with fuel cell with a 300 km range. The Velove Armadillo is a high capacity cargo bike that is narrow, agile and fast enough to be used on bike lanes, with great ergonomics and that is a pleasure to ride. Useful features for city logistics such as silky smooth suspension, 1 m3 safe box with container system and semi-trailer. Designed to endure everyday, heavy-duty use.

  • This is a perfect cargo vehicle for Valencia Spain. If you need a test driver, I am available!!!!

  • “Being part of the Elmob project means that we have the opportunity to conduct an extensive study – from both technical and user angles – on weather protection for our Armadillo bike,” says Johan Erlandsson, Velove Bikes.

  • The idea of the Armadillo is to provide a bike (okay, quad) platform large and sturdy enough to haul bigger, heavier loads while still remaining compact and fast enough to navigate bike paths without clogging up cycling traffic. Prototype 3 is outfitted with an integrated 35-cu ft (1-cu m) cargo box and measures no wider than 34 in (86 cm), which Velove classifies as slightly narrower than a typical family cargo trike and a lot narrower than cargo trikes designed for professional use. Velove is still testing cargo capacity, but it estimates that the bike can carry somewhere between 275 and 330 lb (125 to 150 kg) in its cargo box.
