Dutch Albert Heijn introduces delivery robot

During Digital Food, the new congress of Emerce and Foodlog, Albert Heijn gave a sneak preview of the latest innovation the Dutch supermarket is working on: a delivery robot. This summer, a robot is going to work for customers on the High Tech Campus Eindhoven (NL).

Workers at the campus can place their order via the app at the local AH to go store. Employees of this AH to go store place the order in the robot which then drives to the location where the customer is located. This way the consumer can keep working while lunch is being delivered. The robot, developed by TeleRetail, uses a virtual map to find its way and is equipped with sensors to ensure that it does not bump into anything.
